O Louco, Igor Freitas’s alter-ego (Lisbon, Portugal), appeared in 2008 with the irreverent “Circo dos Horrores”, where he immediately assumed a whole visual and musical theatricality, with political and social behaviors as his main criticism, using satire as a mark. Bringing heavy and alternative rock, he shared the stage with bands such as “Bizarra Locomotiva”, “La Chanson Noire”, “Dr Zilch”, “Dr Salazar”, among others. The shows, being theatrical, sought to follow the concept of the album. Before the end of the Tour, Louco states that the next albums will always be different, both visually and musically.
It all starts in 2001, when Igor Freitas decides to pursue music. He began studying Singing, Piano and Musical Training at a regional Conservatory and in 2002 decided to go further and study Music Production. In 2003 he formed the group Terra D’Alma, practicing a mix of classical music and traditional Portuguese music. That same year he created his alter-ego “IGOR”, which allows him to unleash the madman in him. In 2005 he formed the metal band The 7th Circle as a vocalist, which toured the country with several concerts. In 2007 he released the EP “Testament Zero” and continued like this until he left the band to dedicate himself entirely to his solo project.
In 2008 he released his first album “Circo dos Horrores”, starting the Tour in 2009. He participated in the first edition of the Alternative Song Festival. With its own name, he brings the controversial “Ditadura Militar” to be heard by some renowned names, such as Tozé Brito, Eládio Clímaco and Helena Coelho. In 2013, “Uma Casa de Bonecas” was released, a more alternative album, which takes us to a decadent cabaret, where several musical genres interconnect.
In 2014 he published his first book “A Verdade Perdida no Silêncio” by Chiado Editora. However, he has published poems and short stories over the years in various anthologies. In 2018 he received an honorable mention from the “Irene Lisboa competition” in Arruda dos Vinhos with a children’s story “The Moon that was afraid of the dark”.
In 2016, the EP “Ao vivo (ou morta) was released, changing the name from “IGOR” to “O Louco”. In 2017 he released the single “O Beijo” as “IGOR”, taking on the distance between projects.
In 2023 he returned with a new album and visual. “Fame” talks about the dark side of fame. From abuse, drugs, depression, etc. Following a more electronic musical line, from pop, sometimes to techno and even a more electro style. In 2024 he started the Tour with an even more theatrical and immersive show.
